I’m on my university’s debate team. I’ll be debating in Kansas for the next five days, thus I won’t have a lot of time to update this blog. I don’t want you guys to feel abandoned, so I thought I’d tell you beforehand. I love you guys and will miss you a lot during those five days.
Despite the fact that I won’t be online during the next week, I think it would be rad if you guys would continue submitting your fatspirations. After all, in order to keep this blog running, I need content. Content like words, phrases, people, and quotes that fatspire you. So submit via ‘ask’ or ‘submit’.

I love you guys very much. Keep your lives and bodies positive!

Hey everyone! My name’s Laura (size 14, approximately 180/190lbs). Here’s a short description of this piece. And please follow me! Thanks <3
This picture marks a new phase of my journey with body acceptance. Inspired by journaling and tumblring, I’ve been challenging myself to view bodies as beautiful, despite their imperfections-a personally empowering and validating form of activism against oppressive forces of fat shaming women. This challenge led me to a project of self-portraiture, which this picture represents the beginning of. It is the product of my first shoot. The experience was incredibly meaningful: to frame an image of my soft, round belly within two other vulnerable yet feminine images of my body. All of them taken from interesting angles, that just kind of happened without too much thinking. This project is really helping transform the way I perceive my body, as well as affording my autonomy over loving my body. And I see so much room for continuing development with this project. Thank you for the opportunity to share this raw side of myself-with other strong, beautiful people who can appreciate the value in this type of work.

1.) You shouldn’t feel the need to validate your body.
2.) Shaming other bodies to feel better about yourself is counterproductive to body acceptance.

This is in response to the assholes who message/ harass people about their bodies. Why does my love of my fat body fill you with so much rage? Think about it.

Note: Unless you like that, of course. This is a response to the fact that people of size are often pressured by body shamers/policers to “cover up”. Fuck that.
Just because you’re chubby doesn’t mean you have to add a whole layer of clothing
